天文影像處理對電腦有一定運算力要求。一張簡單的行星照片,可以是從十多二三十段錄像,總計數十萬上百萬幀影像中疊加而成。比較理想的做法是臨睡前按鍵處理,早上再做下一步....
其實現在已比較好了,八十年代的電腦運算力一不夠,我當年用XT8086電腦運算光學系統隨時都要用大半小時才出結果,當機也不時發生,甚至聽過有香港愛好者運算望遠鏡設計時,電腦過熱燒了。

Astronomical image processing requires a certain level of computational power from computers. A simple planetary image can be composed by stacking tens to hundreds of thousands of frames from a dozen or more video recordings. The preferred approach is to process them before going to sleep and continue the next steps in the morning...
In fact, the computational power has improved significantly nowadays. Back in the 1980s, the computing power of computers, like the XT8086, was insufficient. It would take me half an hour or more to obtain results using optical systems, and system crashes would occur frequently. I even heard stories of computer overheating and burning when enthusiasts in Hong Kong were designing telescopes.
